Real Lives 2007 (Competition #5, FINALS)
or
"Welcome Back to the Real World!"

Welcome back to Real Lives 2007! This is the grand finals. The person who lives the longest wins the Real Lives 2007 tourney. There are also NO REVERTS ALLOWED. Dylan, who lived to age 84 in his tourney game, is up first. He starts his life in Greece. At age 10, his father has diabetes. Irisa gets put on academic probation, then gets expelled from trade school. At age 15 he begins trade school. At this point he becomes drafted into the military and he reports as ordered. Then he gets his girlfriend pregnant. AT age 19 he donates to a disaster relief charity. He leaves the military and began work as an entertainment industry technician. "Helped out an indigent person. Prison conditions in Greece in some cases constitute cruel and unusual punishment." He tries to help as he can without taking risk. "My son Eneas has had measles." At age 28, this basically happens. "Responded with verbal abuse in an argument. Assaulted someone during an argument. Received a 3% pay raise. Received a 4% pay raise." If you get a pay raise at the start of the year, you can ask for another raise because that counts as your pay raise at the end of the year. His mother dies at age 61 of asthma. Then his father dies of diabetes at age 32 and inherits money from his parents. At age 34, "Decided to steal. Stole goods worth 13,519 euros. I left my family. Left my marriage." I think the game said they frequently do something to each other. Then the next year this happens. "Responded with verbal abuse in an argument. Assaulted someone during an argument. Charged with assault. Sentenced to one year of probation." NOOOOOOOO! Who was watching him assault him? Some random cop dancing in his cop car somehow? Anyway, he gets married to a girl named Niki. "Shared some money with my community. Shared some money I received." That was nice of him. So at age 42 he has a peptic ulcer. "Your brother Makarios has commited suicide has age 45." Not a good idea. The next year, Dylan's cured of the disease. "Your car was stolen." That's the first time I've seen that I think. Then Dylan's house is broken into and burgarized. "You and your wife have had a major argument during which she grabbed and shoved you." Time for him to retaliate violently. It happened the next year with her slapping him. "My brother Makarios's wife Aspasia has congestive heart failure." Come on. We can't have that. "Decided to use my job illegally to make money. Made an extra 471 euros illegally." Then he steals 6,915 euros. "You have developed prostate cancer. Decided to steal. Stole goods worth 6,896 euros. Decided to commit a robbery. Caught attempting a robbery. Sentenced to 3 years in prison." Get this. HE. DIES. IN. PRISON. At age 71, prostate cancer has thrown him out of the planet. When could you die in prison? That doesn't make any sense at all. Also just now he noticed he got his car back after it was stolen before closing out the "you have died" message. But the game doesn't notify you, so you have to pay attention to your personal distance. Now Dylan's virtual body is going to rot in prison. FOREVER.

Here's Alex, who lived to age 80 in his tourney game. He's going to live in "Saint Vincent and the Grenadines". He gets a goiter followed by measles at age 5. "Your goiter has subsided. Caught in a fire and suffered minor burns." He graduates but cannot go to college nor vocational school. Then he becomes a burglar victim. At age 26, this happens. "Responded with verbal abuse in an argument. Assaulted someone during an argument." No assault charge, just go on with your life. At 30 years old, this happens. "My wife grabbed and shoved me. Decided to steal. Stole goods worth 6,547 dollars. Received a 4% pay raise." So far his life is going well. He quits his job and begins work as a police captain. 11 years later, this happens to him. "A major tropical storm has hit Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. 29 people have died and 15,000 others have been affected. The storm has hit my area. Hurricane victim." Ooooooh. Nasty. He reaches the big 50 with nothing happening to him really. He's hoping he can beat Dylan's age of 71. At age 61, this happens. "Jesse born to Margaret Williams. My daughter Margaret's son Jesse has died of asphyxia in childbirth." Well that sucks. Since it's not Alex, he continues playing the game. Three years later, he develops Hodgkin's disease. Which is actually lymphoma. Then he goes blind from cataracts. At age 71, he beats the age, but then he gets prostate cancer. So let me recap for those of you that missed game one of the finals. Dylan expired in prison from robbing things, and Alex is sitting at home when a doctor tells him he - "You have died at age 72 of prostate cancer." Oh. Never mind. The score to beat is now 72.

Aghun is next, and he lived up to age 75 in his tourney game. He starts in Thailand and begins school at the usual age of six. "You have developed a goiter from insufficient iodine in your diet." This happens a few years later. At age 13, it takes four girls before his parents approve. A lot happens at age 14. "Helped out a beggar. Cleaned up someone else's mess. Skipped a year in school." Then his girlfriend breaks up with him - time to seek a new romance! He begins college by not going to trade school. At age 17 he goes blind from catericts - that's the earliest I've seen it strike. Then he gets a peptic ulcer and goes to graduate school. The blindless shoots his athletic ability all the way down to zero, which is a massive drop. But anyway, he graduates from college, graduate school, then he goes to vocational school. He then decides to become a blind scientist. At age 28, this very sad event happens. "My mother has hepatitis. My mother has died at age 63 from a heart attack." Aghun, still blind, notices his athletic shot up to seven. "You have been cured of cataracts." A thief steals some money from him. Then his happens. "You are suffering from clinical depression. A major flood has hit Thailand. The flood has hit your area. You do not have enough cash to cover your losses. Please convert some investments into cash." After he is cured of depression, "The flood has hit your area." Yes, two floods hit the area. At age 41, he starts having babies. "My father has died at age 77 from pancreas cancer." Okay, that's a new type of death. Then he changes his job into a doctor at age 48. Then three years later we see a message we have never seen before. "My daughter Hansa has become mentally retarded due to pertussis (whooping cough)." Basically, it's below average intelligence and set of life skills present before age 18. Anyway, his wife grabs and shoves him. Then... "I have arthritis of the knee." All of a sudden his wife drops dead at age 62 of diabetes. Ten years later, the cataracts comes back. "My daughter Hansa's husband Jarunsuk has died at age 38 from suicide." Sucks to be him. Then diabetes kicks into overdrive. He HAS beaten the score, so now he has to survive for as long as he can. "You have senile dementia. Too old to continue working as doctor." Now let's see what he has. A goiter, dementia, diabetes mellitus, osteoarthritis of the knee." Then everyone starts finding jobs as his health drops below ten. "My son Chulalongkorn has moved out on his own. My daughter Hansa has moved out on her own. My daughter Thao-Ap has moved out on her own. My son Dhipyamongkol has moved out on his own." Four people leave now. "You have hookworm. You are too old to continue working as a mathematician. Would you like to look for another job?" Why would he? He has three health points left and - "You have died from an infection at age 87."

Kronos is last, and he lived to age 73 in his tourney game. If he can't beat age 87, then he loses. We're going to Andorra for the 20th game of Real Lives 2007 in this series. I'll announce my plans for this series at the end of this game. He comes down with a sickness at age 1, but gets into school anyway. "Your father has died at age 45 from suicide." Anyway, he meets a boyfriend (his character is female) and his mother approves of it. Then he finishes secondary school, and begins college. Anyway, they are now married at this point in the game at age 18. He then goes to graduate school. At age 22 he gets pregnant and Jose is born. He gets a chance to commit fraud. With a big grin he clicks yes. "You have been caught perpetrating a fraudulent scheme. You are now sentenced to two years of probation." He gets a job as doctor after graduating. At age 29, he finds out his character's husband has eplipsy. By age 41, he has 10 children. "Your car was stolen." Well that sucks! "Your husband Armando has become diabetic." Okay then. "Tomas has left his family." His health shoots down to 53 for some reason. Then his mother gets heart attack caused by IHD. "You have arthirtis of the knee." Then he saves his friends life. "Your son Orlando's girlfriend has developed a melanoma." His husband drops dead of diabetes. Damn it! At age 78, this happens. "You have epilepsy." Yes, he is living a very nice and long life where not much happens, and I hate when that's the case. He's 9 years away from tying and 10 years from winning. At around age 81, everyone begins finding jobs as he changes to a writer. Everyone's heart is beating as they watch the player's character age. Everyone then moves out. At age 87, he thinks he has it. He's two years away from becoming the first ever Real Lives 2007 tourney winner. It is a real nail biter. Then...

"You have died at age 89 from general complications of old age."

This doesn't matter. Kronos is the first tourney winner of Real Lives 2007 and therefore receives the largest cash price.

FINAL RESULTS

1st: Kronos (age 89, old age) - gets $100,000.
2nd: Aghun (age 87, infection) - gets $50,000.
3rd: Alex (age 72, prostate cancer) - gets $25,000.
4th: Dylan (age 71, prostate cancer, while in prison) - gets $10,000.

Everyone else who didn't get into the finals only gets $1,000. Also, due to the success of this series, it has becomes a mainstream series, along with Warcraft II and Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode. They may not be tourneys, just casual playing sessions involving four to eight people. See you next time!
The finals are here! Who's going to take the glory?
